UPDATE
Resumption of Normal Services
Since the start of the Coronavirus outbreak we have been maintaining normal services for urgent & emergency eye care, but advice from our professional bodies & NHS England has now stated that routine sight tests and contact lens check-ups can be resumed for all patients apart from those exhibiting signs of potential Covid19 infection, namely pesistent cough, loss of sense of taste and/or smell, shortness of breath, and raised temperature. You will be asked to confirm that you are not showing any of these symptoms at the time of appointment booking.
Those patients in high-risk categories and requiring routine sight tests only (i.e. in the absence of deterioration in sight or problems with spectacles, etc.) are advised to postpone booking in until the Coronavirus risk is minimised as per government advice.
Patients requiring advice on acute eye problems under the Coronavirus Urgent Eyecare Service (CUES) are advised to telephone the practice when they will be able to speak with an Optometrist for advice and appropriate management. Attendance at the practice will be limited to those patients deemed to have potentially sight-threatening conditions requiring urgent assessment in person. Further advice regarding appropriate pathways to follow can be obtained by calling NHS 111.
Resupply of Contact Lenses and Solutions.
We have endeavoured to ensure that our regular contact lens patients have had an adequate supply of contact lenses and solutions to see them through this crisis via home deliveries. As there is now the opportunity to resume normal contact lens aftercare, we will be reverting to direct supply of lenses & solutions through in-practice collection at the check-up appointment. Should you prefer to maintain home delivery, please request this at the time of consultation either by telephone or in person.
Our hours of opening are Monday – Friday: 9.00am – 5.00pm and Staurday: 8.45am – 12.45pm.
We look forward to seeing our patients again and welcoming all to our practice in the near future.
